Baby Dedication

We were asked if we wanted Eden baptised (Aussie spelling) before taking her off the machines. We declined because we believe baptism is a wonderful picture of the change in someone's life AFTER accepting Jesus Christ as their Saviour. It portrays how we are buried with Christ (old self) and raised to new life with Him (new self). The Bible never speaks of baptising children.

However, I believe strongly in the idea of baby dedication. We dedicate our daughter back to God and promise to raise her to know Jesus and to take good care of His wonderful gift.

So, Tina and I had a chance to do a baby dedication and thank Him for this gift. We took the best care of her for as long as we could. I can't tell you how many hours Tina spent in her recliner holding Eden and giving her comfort. The nurses said Eden's vital signs were always much much better when Eden was on mommy's chest. My job was to change her nappies (diapers), clean her eyes, change her probes, take her temperature and anything else I could do to help. It was a wonderful experience, and I hope God was pleased with how we took care of her.

I am certain that Our Father is pleased with how you took care of Eden and shared her with us-- spreading your love for baby Eden and our Lord throughout all the world as He commanded. You are in my thoughts and prayers constantly and I am saddened that I'm unable to be with you in body as well.
Eden is in the eternal eden now with Our Father. Praise the Lord.
God Bless you both during this difficult time and know your brothers and sisters are with you in heart and spirit.
