Geneticist Was Sick

The geneticist that was to meet with us today called in sick. I find that funny. Not even a geneticist is immune!

We did speak with a genetic counselor that told us little Eden has an extra 18th chromosome in all the cells tested. Some babies that have a partial 18th (not all cells are infected) tend to have a longer life span. Since all of the cells sampled showed the extra 18th, Eden is likely to pass away soon (3-5 days). Her heart problems, caused by this genetic disorder, will be the main issue. I resisted going into my "Creationism mode" and asking if he has ever seen a mutation that has been good! Darwinian evolution just doesn't work.

Again, we pray to God for a healing, but at the same time cherish every moment we have. I get to hold her today, so all my "manliness" will be out the window after posting those photos!

Well, to me there should be a law that if a geneticist calls in sick then that day is declared a medical worry-free day...
For now, embrace those tender moments provided; Eternity with innocent Eden will linger a titch longer!

Oh John and Tina, my heart and soul are breaking for the heartache you must be feeling. I know that you will cherish every momeent you have on earth with her, knowing that heaven will be sweeter with her there and you will see her again. My prayers as always have been with you and my mind is always thinking of you. God can perform a miracle! I will pray even harder for her! I love all of you so much and it is so difficult being so far away!

I pray the Holy Spirit ministers greatly to you during this time - that you feel His encouragement for strength in your emotions, your physical health, and the faith that Jesus is looking after her; that you can love her, love each other, and love God with a divine power, and above all may He give you peace. Thank you Lord for Eden Lanay!

I am trying to write through a blur! Create memories, and cherish every moment here and know that God loves her and cares about her unbelievably even more than you guys and all of us praying for you guys put together. I would dearly love to come and give you guys a hug but we have colds. Our God is so good. John, there'll be time to let your Creationist streak out, more important things to do now. Tina, did you ever feel such love? God loves us ever so much more! Much love, Peter, Karina, Jonah and Jared.

God keeps bringing me back to the verse that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called to His pupose. I can see the the comments that God is doing a great work through this heart breaking time. Folks are on their knees and praying. Lives are being touched and changed. KNOW THIS, WE LOVE YOU GUYS and GOD LOVES YOU. You are in our prayers and God hears everyone of them. I can't wait to see you again and give you a great big hug. We are still praying for a miracle and trusting in God...

The more I read on this page, the more tears I have. People have mentioned feeling so helpless. That is my feeling, my heart is just breaking for you guys, and I can not get over how beautiful she is.
God can move mountains, and I am still praying for you guys. Fi
